Not far from Brasov, in Transylvania – Romania, right after the Rupea forest natural reservation, is Racos. The place, now hosting a few stone quarry, some millions years before, was a theater of fire and lava which is very difficult to imagine looking at the now calm and nice landscape. But the remains of the dead vulcano, are still there, hidden on a hill. I was in the crater  in a very hot summer day and looking at the ashes and at the frozen lava around me, I could easily imagine the boiling sea and the rivers of melted rocks once invading the whole area surrounding the crater, destroying everything found in the way. It is an interesting feeling being in such a place, where so dramatic events occurred in the past.
