Rosia Montana Gold Corporation doreste sa exploateze aurul ramas.

Rosia Montana is an area from the West of Romania, a place blessed by God with a spectacular landscape but also with rich reserves of gold. Unfortunately, the gold was and continues to be a curse for this wonderful place. It has been extracted for more than 2000 years, but it didn’t manage to bring good wealth to the area, on the contrary. In the seventies, there has been used a destructive mining technique, and the result can be seen in the photographs attached hereto: stockpiles of sterile material containing cyanide, dead fields in the middle of a nature with high regenerative power, however incapable of undoing the harm which has been brought upon it. The final hit is being prepared right now. Rosia Montana Gold Corporation wants to extract the remaining gold, using the same destructive method, but on a gigantic scale. A 180 meter-tall dam shall embank the lake against the billions of liters of toxic waste. The nearest town is only 3 miles away.  (The photographs are from 2006 and are technically poor, but the message I think is overwhelming.)
